Some Of Aaron Tippin’s Works

His first album helped establish him as a neotraditionalist country singer with songs that catered to the working class in America. Aaron Tippin released five studio albums and a Greatest Hits package under RCA’s tenure. His second album “Read Between The Lines” was released in 1992, and it reached the Top 10 on the US and Canadian Country charts. The single “There Ain’t Nothing With the Radio” was released in 1992 and reached #1 on both the US and Canadian Country charts and his 1995 single “That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You” reached #1 on the US Country charts. Personal Life

Aaron Tippin married Theo Corontzos at a Greek Orthodox ceremony in Nashville, and they live in Dowelltown, Tennessee. His wife, his manager, Billy Craven, and Aaron created Tippin’s company, Tip Top Entertainment. Tippin also opened two hunting supply stores called Aaron Tippin Firearms.  One in Smithville, Tennessee, and the other in Oak City, North Carolina. The store in Oak City was run by Tippin’s late father, Willis Emory Tippin, who passed away in 2005. Tippin and his son also made recordings with his father.

Musical Style of Tippin

Aaron Tippin sings in a baritone, a voice that is characterized by a heavy, nasal Southern twang. In her review of Tippin’s debut, Alanna Nash, an Entertainment Weekly reviewer described his phrasing and compared it to Hank Williams’s for “the catch in the throat, followed by a sliding moan”.

A lot of his songs, such as “Workin’ Man’s Ph.D” and “You’ve Got To Stand For Something” are mid-tempo anthems that have addressed the working class, and are often patriotic. Aaron also records love-themed ballads, like “That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You” occasionally. There are also honky-tonk-influenced novelties such as “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With The Radio”, and “Honky Tonk Superman”.
