Terrence Jenkins(also known as Terrence J) was born on April 21, 1982. He is an American actor, television presenter, model, and entertainment reporter. He has an estimated net worth of $4 million.
He is best known for his role as the host of BET’s popular music video countdown show 106 & Park(an American hip-hop and R&B music video show set up in a countdown format) from 2006 to 2012. Terrence was also a co-anchor of E! News from 2012 to 2015. He was born in Queens, New York, but grew up in the Rocky Mountains, North Carolina.
Early Life Of Jenkins
Terrence Jenkins attended Northern Nash High in the Rocky Mountains and during this time he worked at WRSV Soul 92.1 (a commercial FM radio station) as a DJ until he graduated from high school. For college, he attended North Carolina A&T State University while living in Greensboro. During his time at the university, he served as a Student Government Association President and as a DJ for North Carolina A&T’s radio station WNAA. Terrence also worked as a DJ at a local radio station called 102 Jamz in Greensboro.
Terrence J was a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, where he was later initiated in spring 2004 to the Mu Psi chapter at North Carolina A&T State University. He graduated from the university in 2004 with a degree in mass communication, and he worked in the Diversity Office of Nascar in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Terrence Jenkins was in a relationship with Valeisha Butterfield, (an American socialite from 2008 to 2010). After their breakup, he dated Brandy Norwood (a singer from 2010 to 2011), then he dated Selita Ebanks (a Caymanian model, from 2011 to 2013), Nicole Isaacs (an American model, from 2013 to 2015), and Jasmine Sanders (an American model, from 2016 to 2018).
Terrence also dated Khloe Kardashian in 2009. As of December 2023, he is engaged to his model girlfriend, Mikalah Sultan. He proposed to her in Miami during that weekend.
Terrence had gotten into some rough spots over the time. In 2018, he was involved in a hit-and-run incident where he allegedly fled the scene after his car(McLaren sports car) was totaled. In 2021, he was chased and shot at by some robbers who followed him home early in the morning.
Terrence paid $2. 6 million for a home in the LA suburb of Sherman Oaks in 2015. According to real estate records, in May 2021, he was looking for a renter for the eye-popping fee of $45,00 per month. In early 2021, Terrence paid $1.45 million for a home in La Quinta, California.

Terrence appeared on the reality TV series “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami”, a spin-off of “Keeping up with the Kardashians” and he also had a recurring role on “The Game”, which is a spinoff of “Girlfriends”. These appearances were during his time hosting the “106 & Park”.
After leaving “106 & Park”, Terrence became a co-anchor on “E! News” from 2013 to 2015. After that, he also hosted a dating game show called “Coupled” on Fox, which was a short-lived one. He also was a co-host of “Miss USA 2016” and “Miss USA 2017” for the same network.
He also hosted the sixth season of the reality dating series called “Are You The One?” on MTV in 2017. He hosted the seventh and eighth seasons of the same series. Terrence had a recurring role in the anthology slasher series “Scream: Resurrection”, and hosted “Power Confidential” in 2019.
Film Career
Terrence has also acted in a number of films, alongside his television career. He was first featured in a 2006 romantic dramedy called “The Heart Specialist”, in which he played Jenks. This film premiered at the Boston Film Festival. He appeared in the backstage musical “Burlesque” four years later and in the direct-to-video dance drama sequel “Stomp the Yard: Homecoming”.
Terrence played a role in the musical “Sparkle”, and in the romcom “Think Like A Man” in 2012. In the romcom, he played Michael Hanover, also known as “The Mama’s Boy”. He re-played his role in the 2014 sequel “Think Like A Man Too”. He appeared in the rom-com “Baggage Claim” and a 3D dance film called “Battle Of The Year”
Terrence had a cameo in 2015. He played himself in the big-screen adaptation of the HBO television series “Entourage”. In 2016, Terrence had his biggest film role yet. He starred as playboy Charlie “Mack” Mclntyre in the rom-com “The Perfect Match”. In 2019, he appeared in “Same Difference” and “CIROC: What Men Want”.
