Materials and Tools Needed⚒️⚒️

Before you begin,  you can either buy these or borrow these from neighbours the following materials and tools:

Materials:

• New interior door (Of course! You know that 😁)
• Hinges (usually come with the door)
• Screws – Take extra just in case.
• Door handle and lock set

Tools:

• Screwdriver
• Hammer
• Drill
• Measuring tape
• Level
• Chisel
• Saw (if adjustments are needed)
• Safety gear (gloves, safety glasses) –  A Must Thing Always

Preparation

You can just start with measuring your existing door frame. You can not be so inaccurate with the measurements, otherwise there is no guarantee  that your new door fits perfectly. 

When selecting your new door, consider the style and material that best match your home’s decor like the colour of the wall and patterns!

Once you are done with that, now you can carefully remove the old door from its hinges. 

Remember!! This step requires caution to avoid damaging the door frame. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the hinges from the door, then gently lift the door out of the frame.

Removing the Old Door

1. Unscrew the Hinges: Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from the hinges attached to the door.
2. Dispose of the Old Door: Remove and Handle the old door with care, especially if you plan to repurpose it. You can keep it in your storage or garage!! 

Preparing the Door Frame

Now you have to check the door frame if there is any damage or irregularities. If needed, repair the frame by filling in holes or cracks and ensuring its level and secureness. This step is crucial for a smooth installation process.

Installing the New Door🚪

1. Align the Door: Position the new door in the frame to check for size.
2. Install Hinges: Attach the hinges to the door first, then align them with the frame.
3. Attach the Door: Secure the door to the frame by screwing the hinges into place. You’re gonna need someone to help you with this!! 
4. Check Alignment: Ensure the door swings smoothly without any noise like your old door and aligns perfectly with the frame.

Finishing Touches

We are not done yet!! Installing the door handle and lock according to the manufacturer’s instructions is a must thing as every door design is different. Adjust the door as necessary to ensure it opens and closes smoothly. You can also paint or stain the door to match your home’s decor.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

There can be some issues but don’t worry If you encounter issues like misalignment or sticking, 

here are some solutions:

• Misalignment: Adjust the hinges or plane the door edges slightly.
• Sticking: Sand down any rough edges or adjust the strike plate.
• Gaps: Add weatherstripping or adjust the door stop for a better fit.
