But the thing is many people do an antidepressant group of medicines for instant relief, and sertraline is one of those antidepressant groups of medicine. Sertraline is an antidepressant group of medicine belonging to the SSRI (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) class. Sertraline is also called a happy chemical because it serves as a messenger in our brain. Sertraline increases the level of serotonin in our body by blocking its reabsorption and helps to regulate mood, appetite and sleep. This medicine is used to treat Major depressive disorder (MDD), Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Panic disorder, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Social anxiety disorder, and Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). But as we know every medicine has its side effects, the common side effects of sertraline are nausea, insomnia, dizziness, fatigue, weight change, dry mouth, headache, and etc.

1. Sleep Disturbance: The sertraline can disturb your sleep pattern and lead to insomnia and it can also disturb your dreams and cause nightmares.

2. Morning Drowsiness: Taking sertraline at previous night can lead to morning weakness which can also affect your day-to-day productivity.

3. Increase Anxiety: The nighttime taking of this medicine can exacerbate anxiety.

4. Digestive Issues: Evening sertraline dosing can lead to digestive side effects. (eg:- Stomach upset).

5. Restless Leg Syndrome: In many cases, people who use Sertraline at night can also complain of having RLS symptoms.

6. Frequent Urination: In some cases, nocturia (frequent urination at night) is also encountered.

So, these are some major side effects that can be encountered on people who use sertraline piles at night. 

Optimal Timing For Taking Sertraline:

Every medicine has its dose and volume, if we take the medicine accordingly it will become more beneficial for us.

1. Take sertraline piles in the morning to reduce the effects of nighttime side effects.

2. Maintain a consistent daily routine for maintaining efficacy.

3. Take the sertraline piles with food to reduce the effects of irregular bowel symptoms.
