Diamonte Quiava Valetin Harper, also professionally known as Saweetie, was born on July 2, 1993. She is an American rapper and singer. In 2017, she released her debut single, “Icy Grl,” and received double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She was born in Santa Clara, California, but grew up in Hayward and later in Sacramento. Saweetie began writing music at the very early age of 13 where after her high school, she attended San Diego State University. She studied communication and business before being transferred to the University of Southern California where she completed her degree and received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in communication.  After graduating in 2016, Saweetie started focusing more on her rap career.  

Where does Saweetie Live Currently? 

Saweetie lives in Santa Clara, California in the United States. Santa Clara is located 45 miles southeast of San Francisco where it covers around 19.3 square miles and sits in the heart of what is known as Silicon Valley. 

Saweetie has been raised in a multi-ethnic household in Northern California. This has been so as her father is of African-American descent and her mother is of Filipino-Chinese descent. Her upbringing has been much influenced by her parents’ diverse background which can be seen reflected throughout her wide range of music genres. Saweetie’s career took many leaps after being graduated as she gave much focus on her musical career. Apart from her musical career, she launched her jewelry line “ICY” and has multiple brand partnerships. Just at the age of 26-year-old, Saweetie bought her first private jet, which she announced on her Instagram video. This makes the total net worth of Saweetie to be $4 million. 

Personal Life and Career 

In 2016, she started by posting clips about her lifestyle on her Instagram account. In one of the videos, she was featured rapping over the beat from female rapper Khia’s “My Neck, My Back (lick It)” which eventually became “Icy Grl”.  During the summer of 2017, the song “Icy Grl” was released on her SoundCloud earning her much attention. Apart from this, in June 2020 the video also went viral online, collecting over 100 million views on YouTube.  Consecutively in the same month, she released a freestyle rap “High Maintenance” accompanied by a short clip of herself rapping a verse to the song that eventually went viral on Instagram and Twitter. Saweetia’s other major album, “Icy,” was released on March 29, 2019. In addition to this, she collaborated with PrettyLittle Thing and launched a 59-piece clothing collection. In 2021, she also hosted a sex-positive comedy special titled Sex: Unzipped.  

Saweetie is the first caution of an actress Gabrielle Union while her grandfather Willie Harper once was a football player for the San Francisco 49ers. In 2018, she started dating a fellow rapper Quavo of the group Migos where they were first seen together during New York Fashion Week. However, in 2021, Saweetie confirmed via social media that she is no longer weather with Quavo.
