Conor Anthony McGregor was born on July 14, 1998, in Dublin, Ireland. He was raised in Crumlin and attended Irish language schools, including Gaelscoil Scoil Molōga in Harold’s Cross at the primary level and Gaelcholáiste Coláiste de hīde in Tallaght at the secondary level. While attending this school, McGregor developed a passion for playing football.

McGregor is a professional mixed martial artist. He was an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight and Lightweight Champion. The former UFC champion is the first fighter to hold UFC championships in two weight classes simultaneously. He is also a former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship (CWFC) fighter, who is a champion in both the Featherweight and Lightweight divisions simultaneously.

Early Life and Family

McGregor started playing football for Lourdes Celtic Football Club at a young age. He also began training as a boxer at Crumlin Boxing Club at 12, to defend himself from bullies and to raise his confidence. In 2006, McGregor and his family moved to Lucan, Dublin, and he attended Gaelcholáiste Coláiste Cois Life, and later began his apprenticeship in plumbing.

McGregor is Catholic and a football fan. He is a supporter of both Celtic and Manchester United. He also shows support for Paris Saint-Germain, as he is a friend of Sergio Ramos. McGregor also stated that he doesn’t follow any sort of pre-fight rituals or superstitions, because he thinks they seem to him like a form of fear.

McGregor has two sisters, Erin and Aoife. He has been engaged to be married to his fiancée, Dee Devlin, since 2008, and they have four children between them. His cousins, Keith Buckley and Warren Davis, are both professional footballers.

Training and Wins

When they were living in Lucan, he met future UFC fighter Tom Egan, and they started training mixed martial arts together. He often trains at the Mjölnir gym in Reykjavik with Gunnar Nelson, his fellow UFC fighter. McGregor began competing professionally in mixed martial arts in 2008, fighting in lightweight and featherweight divisions. He also won the CWFC Featherweight and Lightweight Championships in 2012, and then he signed with the UFC in 2013. He won 5 consecutive fights, and he won the Interim Featherweight Championship by defeating Chad Mendes at UFC 189. He became an undisputed Featherweight Champion at UFC 194, after knocking out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds. This is the fastest finish in the history of a UFC title fight. He also won the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 205 by defeating Eddie Alvarez

McGregor transitioned to professional boxing briefly in 2007, fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr., a highly publicized match, which he lost by TKO in the 10th round. He soon returned to MMA for the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 229, and lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov by submission.

McGregor’s House

McGregor owns three luxurious mansions in different countries, with the fourth one on its way. But the construction of the mansion might be harder than the rest of his property. Let’s take a look at why that would be.

He planned to demolish the house to add more rooms and make it more to his liking by adding two basements, with one being directly under the property and featuring an indoor swimming pool, cinema, gym, sauna, jacuzzi, and a treatment room, along with another house that has a game room, a bar and a car park. Initially, the permission was granted by Kildare County Council to partly demolish the house and extend it in 2021, but when the demolition started, McGregor changed his mind and demanded the whole house be torn down for his growing family’s needs.

The property would be five times the size of the old house, making it go from 605 sqm to 3073, which the council complained about the sewage disposal issues, and they claimed the site for the property’s wastewater treatment system was unsuitable.

It had also been mentioned that if additional information is not provided by January, the application will be withdrawn and the construction will be dropped, leaving the remaining part of the house a wreck. The council has raised a few questions, primarily regarding sewage disposal.

McGregor also purchased the property next to it in 2022, which didn’t require any changes, and that house will remain available for his clients or be used as a guesthouse. But these aren’t the only properties he owns.

His Ireland House

McGregor owns a lavish home in Ireland, worth £2 million, or approximately A$3.66 million as of 2019. This house previously belonged to a son of former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds. The property has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a gaming room. The villa comes with a great view of the River Liffey, it is known as Paddocks, near Straffan, Co.Kildare, and it is in an elite gated community called Ladycastle, at the K Club. The house features a spiral staircase, with tiled rooms and crystal chandeliers.

Holiday Home in Spain

McGregor has owned a luxury holiday home in Marbella, Spain, since 2018. He bought the house for $2.39 million, and it is perfect for lounging in the sun with his partner, or to bask in the hot weather generally, considering that the Irish winters are unforgiving.

The luxury villa boasts a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean, an ocean view that is visible from their dining room,  and is situated at the doorstep of the La Resina Golf Course. The house features neat and modern touches, like the LED lights in the driveway, and smart water features. He also customized a gym, a home spa, and an outdoor pool, which is accessible from their bedroom. It also has a wine cellar, and a elevator in the house, making it look like it’s straight out of a movie set.

Las Vegas House

McGregor had most of his fights happening in Nevada, and naturally, he bought a house there. The house is called Mac Mansion, and he bought it in 2015, before his fight with Jose Aldo. The house is a 1,115 sqm(12.000 square feet) home, and it is a 15-minute drive from the Vegas Strip. The house has seven bedrooms, a 15m infinity pool, a spa which can hold up to ten people, and a garden golf course. All of the bedrooms feature their own en-suite, and the master bedroom has a marble jacuzzi. The garage has enough rooms for his 10 cars.

However, he never moved permanently to the house, and he was renting it out for a while, before it went on sale in 2017, for around $AU 4.2 million.
